About the topics

Local elections 2025 - thinking of standing for Council?

We're holding a series of in-person sessions where you can learn about what's involved in being an elected member and how to go about standing.

Come along with any questions - our elections and local government experts can answer your question.

For more information on the local elections in October, see our elections webpage

Our regional rivers manager will update you on what’s being done and how you can be involved in shaping the flood resilience solutions that best suit our community. At the hui, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Join a community focus group to help shape the best flood protection options.
  • Share any photos you have of flooding during Cyclone Gabrielle (that you haven't already shared with us) to help build a flood model.
  • Identify important local sites of significance that should be considered in the planning

To learn more about this project visit East Coast Flood Resilience Improvements

Come and chat to our Rates team about rates rebates, payments and remissions.

Other agencies available to offer face-to-face assistance such as MSD, IRD, Trust Tairawhiti, TREC and more.

All welcome.

Everyone is welcome to come along and hear about the work we're doing in your community.

We cover local roads, water and flood protection, drainage and climate change resilience in your community.

If you have any questions or want information about a project in your area, please contact us at least 5 days before the meeting. Then we'll make sure we have the information to share with you at the hui. Contact us by:
