We’re working to create play spaces that are fun, safe, inclusive, and accessible for all ages - places where tamariki, whānau, and communities can connect, explore, and thrive.

Our Tairāwhiti Play Network upgrade programme is about investing in our community's future. It's a long-term journey, unfolding gradually across our region. With 3 recent nature play installations completed - we've taken our first steps towards a playful, connected future. Each space is designed to reflect the local environment - shaped by the nature that surrounds it.

Nature play - hands-on fun in nature

Nature play brings a touch of nature's magic to our parks—logs to climb, rocks to balance on, plants to discover, and sand to dig in. These natural elements spark imagination, build coordination, and help us connect with the taiao in playful, hands-on ways.
