We asked for your feedback on the future of public transport services in our region

In Gisborne city we have the GizzyBus and the Waka Kura school bus services.

Outside of the city, there's currently no fixed scheduled services provided by Gisborne District Council. The school bus service is run by Ministry of Education.

We also have the Total Mobility Scheme for eligible users.

Better choices

We want Council-funded public transport services to be more attractive, accessible and useful to people to reduce dependency on car travel. Having better choices can enable people to live happier, safer and more fulfilling lives.

We're developing a new Regional Public Transport Plan to improve bus services and investigate new travel options across the district. Consultation on that document will take place in early February 2024.

But before that, we wanted to hear your views on our current bus services and Total Mobility - how they could be improved to meet your needs.

We asked for your views

We asked for your views and those who completed the questionnaire went into the draw to win a $100 Prezzy Card. Your information will be super valuable in helping us plan and deliver better public transport services.
