We're proposing to remove on-street parking on Ormond Road between Ruru Avenue and Sterling Park. Council will consider this proposal under the Traffic and Parking Bylaw. Before any decision is made, we welcome your feedback on the proposal using the form below by Friday 27 March.

Why parking removal is being proposed

Removing this parking is being proposed to safely connect the new Turanga Tangata Rite housing development to Ormond Road.

To make these connections, the road layout needs to change to accommodate 2 new driveway entrances to the complex, new pedestrian crossings and to protect water, wastewater and fire‑hydrant pipes under the road.

What this means for residents

If this proposal is approved, on-street parking will be removed from both sides of Ormond Road between 386 - 414 Ormond Road, including 406A Ormond Road and 2 Sterling Park (as shown on the map below).
Access to driveways will remain and the road will continue to operate safely for people driving, walking and cycling and accessing essential services.
