At a meeting in August, Council adopted amendments to the Local Alcohol Policy (LAP) and the policy came into effect on 26 August.

At the time councillors adopted the revised LAP, they asked for the policy in relation to sensitive sites to go back out to the community to ask their views.

The current LAP strongly discourages licenses being granted for new taverns within 150 metres of a sensitive site.
