Graham Road stormwater upgrade

Building resilience for Inner Kaiti

We’re upgrading the stormwater network on Graham Road to help reduce flooding during heavy rain - protecting nearby homes, schools and public spaces in Inner Kaiti.

This project will boost the capacity of the stormwater system and futureproof the network for local needs.

The stormwater system on Graham Road has been identified as under-capacity, meaning it struggles to cope with heavy rain. This has led to localised flooding of streets, public spaces and properties. Upgrading the network will:

  • Provide better flood protection for homes, schools, and public spaces
  • Improve safety and resilience for the community
  • Reduce the impact of severe weather events in the future
  • Enable more public drains on private properties in future, especially where floodwater risks entering gully traps, which can overwhelm the wastewater system and cause overflows into rivers
Construction will take place in 3 stages and is expected to be completed by May 2026

What's happening?

Through the duration of the work, Graham Road residents will have access to their properties and driveways at all times.
